Differences between math in French and in English [Be ready for questions on this topic on Baccalaureat day!]
- Some theorems have different names: When we say "Thales theorem" we do not have the same theorem in mind.
- Use of acronyms to help students memorize methods: FOIL method to expand (a+b)(c+d); PEMDAS for order of operations ... etc.
- More fun? Songs...
- Improper fractions / mixed numbers
- Lattice multiplication
- Decimal representation of real numbers.
- Tiling (pavages)
